Kill Bad Bags 4.0 is a one week-long Preceptorship program in which the participants will perform an intense full immersion in the theoretical and practical problems of antibiotic therapy and the fight against resistant bacteria, a topic that has progressively become a very important public health problem.

The program is aimed at young doctors with specialization in the infectious area or operating in departments where the problem of infections is extremely important.

The programme will helps to improve early and comprehensive diagnosis and management of Infectious Diseases due to resistant bacteria, and will consist of clinical observation, one-on-one faculty instruction and didactic learning modalities to increase the knowledge and competency in relation to all aspects of the management of complex Infectious Diseases: recognising pathognomonic features, diagnostic, recommendations for treatment, new and improved therapeutic strategies, surveillance and management.

The students, 6 for each event, will receive a theoretical training through frontal lectures given by doctors of the Institute of Infectious Diseases of the Hospital of Udine (Italy), on the issues of Gram negative bacteria infections, specifically MDR (Multi Drug Resistant) bacterias, as well as on the Antibiotic Stewardship programs in place. All epidemiological, identification and, above all, treatment aspects will be covered. Moreover specific clinical cases will be presented and discussed with experts.

Next to this theoretical part, students will be able to participate in the normal clinical activity in the Infectious Diseases and Intensive Care Departments, always assisted by an Infectious Disease Clinic Tutor. In addition, students will visit the Hospital's Microbilogy Laboratories and verify directly the type of activity being performed and the diagnostic methods used. Finally they will be able to visit the pharmacy department and the aspects related to the use of medicines.
